License & Usage Terms

1. Internal business-use license

The purchaser receives a non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the purchased materials for the purchaser's or purchasing organization's own internal business evaluation of Japan market-entry opportunities.

The Guide may be shared internally with employees and officers directly involved in that evaluation. It may also be shared with external professional advisers engaged by the purchaser solely for the evaluation, where those advisers are subject to appropriate confidentiality obligations.

2. Worksheet Pack and editable toolkit

The purchasing organization may print, duplicate, complete and circulate the Worksheet Pack internally for its own evaluation. The editable toolkit may be copied and edited internally for the same purpose.

Blank or completed worksheets, spreadsheet copies, templates or derivative working files may not be distributed outside the permitted users described above or supplied as a resource to unrelated third parties.

3. No external distribution or publication

You may not reproduce, redistribute, resell, sublicense, publicly post, upload, publish, re-host or otherwise make the purchased materials available to third parties, in whole or in substantial part, without prior written permission from Smooth Sailing Japan.

This includes publication on public or externally accessible websites, social media platforms, blogs, online communities, cloud-storage folders, file-sharing services or other locations accessible outside the purchasing organization.

4. No commercial reuse

You may not use the materials, or a modified version of them, as a resaleable product, paid training material, commercial template, consulting template, client deliverable or other product or service offered to third parties.

Limited quotation is permitted where reasonably necessary, provided that Smooth Sailing Japan is clearly identified as the source.

5. Personalized license identifiers

Purchased Guide and Worksheet Pack files may contain the purchaser's organization, purchaser email, Polar Order ID and a unique Smooth Sailing Japan License ID. You may not remove, obscure, falsify or alter these license-identification markings for the purpose of redistribution or publication.

6. Intellectual property

Except for the limited license granted above, all rights, title and interest in the materials remain with Smooth Sailing Japan and its licensors, as applicable.

7. Commercial information only

The materials provide commercial information and decision-support frameworks only. They do not constitute legal, regulatory, accounting, tax or other professional advice. Qualified professional advice should be obtained where appropriate.

8. Refunds and support
